Now it is the count down to Paris.....

My sweet hubby was busy while I was away. He rented an apartment in Paris for next September and even has the airline tickets. This at first was a bit scary until I took a look at the pictures of the apartment. I am so excited. This will be a very motivating event to help me continue on my weight loss and healthy life style goals. After all a girl has to look her best to walk the streets of Paris. I don’t want to look like a tourist !!!

My hubby, Skip; my youngest daughter; Gretchen and two of my seven grandchildren, Alex and Rachael and I went to the Biltmore Estates today to take a walk on the grounds and to see the big tree in the house.Gretchen's hubby and my son-in law was working and missed the day. We missed you Ben. It was beautiful as always and we checked a few of the rooms with many more decorated trees. Then off we went to explore and enjoy the beautiful weather. We had so much fun in the garden and of course I found many Kodak moments. Then we were off to the farm and of course we played with the animals. The goats are such a hoot and the horses beautiful. It is also a real treat to watch the really little ones in wonder over being so close to the farm animals. After this we went to the barn and play area. Rachael learned how to make a corn husk doll like the old days and Alex shucked corn and helped pop it the old fashion way. It is such a neat place to visit. PS The adults get seasons passes and then the kids are free so we try to go once a month.. After some time of listening to the hoe down and watching the children visit Santa we wereon  our way home. I love these moments….

Sharing my little piece of heaven.....and a message to Magan

Our Vets at a ceremony honoring them. There are three from W11..Note two women too

Our Lake and the mountain in the background is Rumbling Bald Mountain. Skip, my hubby and I are hiking to the top to a beautiful outcropping tomorrow with our lunch .

My kayak is one of the ones lined up here. This lake is perfect for kayaking.

I enjoyed a rather full day in sunny beautiful Lake Lure, North Carolina, my home.. The day started with a service to honor our vets. It was held at the entrance of our community over looking our Lake. I walked to the there so I enjoyed the beautiful fall colors. Then I worked out and I treaded and Meagan, I didn’t hold on. YEA, pumped those arms. There are so many things I do and one of the trainers or hiking guides little voices pop into my head. Thank you, you are still motivating me daily. After that it was off to have my hair cut and lo lighted. I do feel better with my hair done. And I finished the day off with dinner and a Lion’s Club meeting, a service organization I am involved with and enjoy. PS, passed on the berry cobbler and ice cream without flinching. Here’s some pictures of our little piece of heaven. Miss you all at the BLR…..

What a Month…Thank you BLR, next stop PARIS

Wow, it's been a week and I am still doing fairly well at home. We have hiked and every time I see something in our mountains I think of Malibu. What would be the perfect scenario is Skip and I go together for a few more weeks. HoHo, I would have to rob a bank. Anyway all is well. I dropped six more pounds which is what they said might happen and I'm thrilled. I am doing pretty well on the eating end. I am opting for moderation and the 90/10 program. I've eaten out once and did very well. Passed up the cheese biscuits and all the rich things. Had seafood broiled and it was wonderful. There is not enough words to describe how much better I feel and I can't thank everyone at Malibu enough for all the wisdom they instilled in this rather mature brain of mine. Thanks Malibu. Now to all those positive young folks I met there thanks to you for making me feel young and full of fun and energy. You ROCK and I love you all. I think this may be my last Count Down to BLR blog, but never fear I am thinking of a name for my next one since I think writing is a great way to stay on track and of course I will need all the positive vibes and words from you all.....Since Skip and I are going on a dream vacation next September to Paris it must include this and my fitness journey. If you come up with a great name let me know!!!! Here's some pictures of where I live and the last of the fall color. It is getting cold rather fast but hopefully we still have some Indian summer left in the making.
I forgot to mention I went to a horse show where our South Carolina daughter and her family were helping at their trainers show. I have a a couple of pictures from there. It was so great to be with family.

Doing what I love

There were lots of climbers out here. There were also lots of children and their families out enjoying our mountians
